Village seeks contractor for Tree Maintenance

The Village of Canton is seeking proposals from ISA certified arborists for Village Park Tree Maintenance for the Village of Canton.

The Village has been awarded a $32,000 grant through the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) to perform maintenance on trees in the Village Green. Work will include such things as cleaning, pruning, stumping, cabling, and removal as recommended in the Tree Inventory completed in 2019 and updated in 2021. The certified arborist company chosen for the project will be required to have an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) professional certification.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE AND REQUIREMENTS

Responses shall meet all submission requirements as described below:

  • Responses shall be submitted in portable document format (.pdf)
  • Responses shall be able to be reproduced or printed on portrait-oriented 8.5×11 inch standard paper
  • Responses shall be submitted as soon as possible upon receipt of this request, but no later than September 10, 2021 at 4pm
  • Responses shall be sent by email to Leigh Rodriguez, Director of Economic Development, at [email protected]. Should you have difficulty meeting the deadline, please contact Ms. Rodriguez as soon as possible to discuss an extension.

Two Greet the Green events were held on Thursday September 2 at 6pm, and Friday September 3 at 10am which invited the community to learn more about the project during a walk around the park with Reverend Mike. Handouts from the events can be found here, along with a map.
