PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Canton Village Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 7:00pm, to receive public comment on an application for an area variance related to the installation of a new sign between 80 and 90 East Main Street, Canton, NY 13617. The applicant is looking to install a freestanding sign of 42 square feet in area, and was denied a permit for non-conformance with Village Zoning Code Schedule F: Sign Standards in Development Zones. In the CC and TBL Zoning Districts, the freestanding sign maximum sign area per sign is 36 square feet.
The meeting will be convened in the boardroom of the Municipal Building at 60 Main Street, Canton, NY, where the public may attend. A Zoom virtual meeting option will also be made available. The public is invited to comment during the public hearing, and to view or listen to the meeting in person or via Zoom. Zoom connection information is available on the municipal website at www.cantonny.gov.
