PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Canton Village Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, commencing at 7:00pm, to receive public comment on an application for an area variance at 111 East Main St, Canton, NY 13617. The applicant would like to request an area variance for addition of an accessory shed, located within 10 feet of real property lines.  Based on Village Code Section 325-32, “Nonresidential buildings shall comply with front and side yard requirements for the principal building to which they are accessory and shall not be closer to any real property line than 10 feet.”. 

Both this public hearing and the following Zoning Board of Appeals regular meeting will be conducted by use of Zoom video-conference, in accordance with legislation signed by Governor Hochul extending virtual access to public meetings under New York State’s Open Meetings Law – S.50001/A.40001, which allows New Yorkers to virtually participate in local government meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic. The public is invited to comment during the public hearing, and to view or listen to the meeting by any of the following means:

Public comments may also be submitted via email addressed to chairperson Conrad Stuntz, at [email protected] or by regular mail addressed to the Canton Village ZBA, 60 Main Street, Canton, NY 13617, to be received by 4:00pm on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, and will be made part of the record of the public hearing and meeting.
