PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Canton Village Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 7:00pm, to receive public comment on an application for a use variance related to the addition of a third apartment at 4 Church Street, Canton, NY 13617. The applicant is looking to add a third apartment to the home as approved for a preliminary building permit on 9/27/2016, and was denied an updated permit for non-conformance with Village of Canton Code Section 325, Zoning Law Schedule A: Permitted Uses. In the single-family zoning district, a multifamily dwelling is not a permitted use.
The meeting will be convened in the boardroom of the Municipal Building at 60 Main Street, Canton, NY, where the public may attend. A Zoom virtual meeting option will also be made available. The public is invited to comment during the public hearing, and to view or listen to the meeting in person or via Zoom. Zoom connection information is available on the municipal website at www.cantonny.gov/events.
