Canton Recreation Lifeguards

Part-time Lifeguards and Learn-to-Swim Instructors

Lifeguards are responsible for the safety of patrons at Taylor Park Beach. Applicants must be at least 15 years old and require Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Waterfront certifications. Learn-to-swim instructors must be at least 16 years old and require Basic Swim Instructor (BSI) and/or Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification (training can be provided).

Lead Lifeguard

Lead Lifeguard is responsible for the safety of patrons at Taylor Park Beach, while acting as a mentor and role model for other lifeguards. In addition, this position is responsible for supervising the entire park and maintaining a line of communication with the Recreation Director. Must be at least 18 years old and hold Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Waterfront certifications. At least two years of previous lifeguard experience is required.
