Your Thoughts Needed: CDBG CARES Grant Survey

March 3, 2022

The Village of Canton is seeking thoughts and comments regarding needs in the Village related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Village is considering an application for funds through the Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CDBG CARES) Act for funds that can be used in a number of ways.

Potential projects currently under consideration include:
~A grant fund for small businesses to address improvements that support customer/staff safety and improve business resiliency;
~Funding for public services to support mental health needs in the community;
~Funding for public facilities needs to improve responses to natural disasters, current and future pandemics, and other public safety needs.

Getting the public’s input helps the Village successfully demonstrate the need for funding.

We also encourage you to participate in our upcoming Public Hearing to discuss the proposed CDBG-CARES grant application. This hearing will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 6pm, via Zoom virtual meeting. More information can be found on our website calendar at www.cantonny.gov.

Questions or requests for more information can be addressed to Leigh Rodriguez, Director of Economic Development, at [email protected], or (315)386-2871 x5.

This survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete (potentially longer for business owners interested in the Business Assistance program). Thank you for your contributions!
