Village of Canton, New York
Public Hearing and Meeting of Board of Trustees
July 20, 2020
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Canton Village Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing on Monday, July 20, 2020 at 6:15pm, to consider a local law to regulate burning in the Village of Canton. The local law would amend Chapter 164 of the Canton Village Code (“Fire Prevention”) by adding a new Article III, titled “Burning Regulations”, which would prohibit burning in the Village subject to specific exceptions therein stated; and provide penalties for violations of Chapter 164. The local law would also amend the definition of nuisance stated at §221-11(B) of the Code. The proposed local law may be viewed on the Village’s website.
Upon conclusion of the said public hearing, the Board of Trustees will commence its regular monthly meeting. Both the public hearing and the Board’s regular monthly meeting will be conducted by use of Zoom video-conference, as authorized by Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Executive Order 202.1 (extended by Executive Orders 202.14, 202.28, 202.38, and 202.48) and Executive Order 202.15 (extended by Executive Orders 202.29 202.39, and 202.49).
