LOCAL LAW TO OPT OUT OF THE
EXEMPTION FROM TAXATION FOR
CERTAIN ENERGY SYSTEMS UNDER
REAL PROPERTY TAX LAW §487
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Town Board of the Town of Canton, that pursuant to the provisions of the Town Law of the State of New York, a public hearing will be held at 6:00 o’clock P.M. on the 29th day of November, 2022 at the Canton Town Hall, 60 Main Street, Canton, New York, and VIA ZOOM (link available on the Town website at www.cantonny.gov) to consider the adoption of a local law entitled “LOCAL LAW TO OPT OUT OF THE EXEMPTION FROM TAXATION FOR CERTAIN ENERGY SYSTEMS UNDER REAL PROPERTY TAX LAW §487. The purpose of such local law is to opt out of the exemption from taxation for certain energy systems pursuant to Section 487 of the Real Property Tax Law of the State of New York. A complete copy of the draft local law is available for public inspection at the Town Clerk’s office and at the Town’s website.
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that all interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard.
