Taylor Park

Taylor Park is one of Canton’s treasures. Located on the beautiful Grasse River, Taylor Park boasts a public beach, kayak rentals, a playground, a picnic shelter and grills, a basketball court, a sand volleyball court, frisbee golf, and a ball field.

Park Season: Open May through September
Park Hours: Open for day time use (approximately 7am-8pm)
Beach Season: Weekends only late May/early June; daily June, July, August
Beach Hours: Weekdays 11am-7pm; Weekends 10am-8pm
Location: Taylor Park Road, off Miner Street Road

Kayak rentals are available during beach hours for just $5/hour. Inquire at the Lifeguard Shed for more information. The picnic shelter is available to rent for parties and events for $15/hour. Please call 315-386-3992 for more info.

Bend in the River Park

Bend in the River Park is a beautiful public park nestled on the bank of the Grasse River. Bend in the River Park features a Picnic Shelter and grills, basketball court, sand volleyball court, ball field, and 1/3 mile paved loop trail for walking, biking, and running. This park is a wonderful place to host picnics, parties, and events! There is no swimming allowed at Bend in the River Park, but it has some of the best river views in town.

Park Season: Open year-round, bath house open early spring through late fall
Park Hours: Dawn to Dusk
Location: 90 Lincoln Street

The picnic shelter is available to rent for parties and events for $15/hour. Please call 315-386-3992 for more information. The basketball and sand volleyball courts are open to the public, balls are not provided.

Buck Street Playground

Buck Street Playground is a quiet neighborhood playground offering a fun place to play for all ages. Buck Street Playground includes swings and infant swings, a merry-go-round, a jungle gym with money bars, a sand box, and several slides.

Park Season: Open year-round; maintained early spring through late fall
Park Hours: Dawn to Dusk
Location: Corner of Buck and Lincoln Streets

Remington Recreation Trail

The Remington Recreation Trail is a lovely three-mile paved loop trail. The multi-use trail is great for walking, running, and biking. The trail follows the perimeter of the Partridge Run Golf Course and can be accessed from Sullivan Dr. or Riverside Dr. This trail is paved in the winter, making it a great place to walk, run, and bike year-round. There is also a playground and swing set along the trail less than a quarter mile in from the Sullivan Dr. access point.

Location: Sullivan Drive, off State Street – parking available at the Partridge Run Golf Course  OR 6241 County Rt 27 (Riverside Drive) – parking available at trail head.

 

A Trails Committee recently completed this Canton Master Trail Plan, which outlines the vision for a connected trail system in Canton.
